LOCATION:
Our delightful cedar chalet is tucked away in a cluster of cottages and adjoins 33 acres of woodlands right outside your back door. Watch wild turkeys and deer wander through your yard. This quiet woodlands area is ideally located between Asheville and Hendersonville with only 15 minutes to either downtown and just a bit further to Brevard.

LIVING ROOM:
A cheerful gas stone fireplace in a soaring 20 foot wall with a lovely oil painting above greet you as you enter your front door. The luxurious, very comfortable couches and rich marble tables are quietly elegant and a perfect nest to watch your flat screen 37" HDTV with simple-to-use built-in DVD. Choose from over 100 movies in our video library or watch cable TV. Better yet, it’s the ideal spot to just peacefully sit and unwind in front of the fire.

Central air conditioning makes summers cool although seldom needed in these Blue Ridge Mountains. Just past the living room is the eat-in kitchen, pretty powder room and laundry area.

For the fun of it, we’ve provided a vintage 1948 Scrabble board with 100 wooden tiles, a 1961 Monopoly game, a 1974 Easy Money game plus games such as chess, checkers, playing cards, Yahtzee, etc. In addition, we have a small selection of enjoyable paperback novels.

KING BEDROOM SUITE:
Your romantic upstairs bedroom suite features a magnificent tapestry over a plushSimmons king-size bed, sumptuous 400 thread count cotton sheets, butter-soft blankets & elegant comforter. Lay back in luxury while you watch your flat screen TV with a simple-to-use built-in DVD/VCR.

A handsome dresser, chest of drawers and walk-in closet offer plenty of space for your clothes. And, best of all, an amazing Human Touch Technology Massage Chair will send you to heaven! It’s our favorite ultimate pleasure. A tasteful bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub/shower and sumptuously thick cotton towels complete the master suite. Oh, don’t you love to be spoiled!

FULL KITCHEN:
If you prepare meals at home, your eat-in kitchen is thoughtfully & fully equipped with quality cookware! You have full-size appliances including refrigerator with ice/water in the door, electric flat cooktop with self-cleaning oven, dishwasher, microwave, and disposal. Enhance your meals by serving them on our festive hand-painted dinnerware, heavy glasses and quality silverware. You’ll find sharp knives, a multitude of pots, pans, bake dishes, cookie sheets, cake pans, pizza pan, muffin pans, hand mixer, toaster, blender, waffle iron, coffee maker and even a coffee grinder for your freshly brewed coffee. You’ll find a selection of spices and a few other goodies as well.

There's also a full-size washer and dryer for your convenience.

OUTSIDE:
Step out your back door onto a wonderful screened, covered porch. Relax there in privacy in an intimate two-person lounger spa hot tub and view the woods and wildlife in your back yard. Drink a morning cup of coffee in the deck chairs or venture out into the yard to enjoy the two-person swing. Ah, the romance of it!

What we love about these Appalachian Mountains is its wealth of activities. We experience a gentle four seasons here that makes any time of year perfect for a visit. If you love to shop for the unusual, there are fantastic antique stores, numerous galleries, unique boutique shops, and amazing handcrafted goods. This region is host to numerous festivals filled with music, dance, arts and crafts. There are family events, live theater, concerts, cinemas and museums. For golfers. There’s skiing, hiking, white water rafting, miniature golf, fishing, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, you name it! Check out the new Fun Depot for a wealth of indoor fun.

When George Vanderbilt had all the world to select a site for his home in the 1890’s, he choose Asheville to built his 250 room French Chateau. Famous for being the largest private residence in the United States, you can spend a full day wandering through the mansion, its grounds, greenhouses, winery, restaurants and shops. Just outside the gates of the Biltmore House is Biltmore Village. These quaint buildings and streets have enchanting shops and restaurants to delight you. Our favorite is The New Morning Gallery/Bellagio, the largest handcrafted gallery in the Eastern United States.

Other famous places to explore include the Grove Park Inn with it’s new world renowned underground spa, the famous poet Carl Sandburg’s home, the North Carolina Arboretum, Chimney Rock Park, Lake Lure, Grandfather Mountain, The Cove - Billy Graham’s headquarters, The Nature Center, and much, much more.

Sightseeing along the Blue Ridge Parkway is outstanding with many hiking trails and waterfalls along the way. One direction you’ll find Mount Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi, and the other direction is Mount Pisgah. Both areas offer a delightful restaurant with extreme views! And between stops, you can shop for amazing local hand crafted goods at the Folk Art Center and learn about our mountain heritage. There are nature walks and hiking almost everywhere you go including the Mountain-To-Sea Trail.

These ancient Appalachian Mountains is home to mountain music and dancing. Several times a week you can test your dancing shoes at Contra Dancing with live upbeat Celtic music. Arrive half an hour early and someone will teach you the easy steps. Just pick up the local Mountain Express free weekly paper which lists 100’s of events happening every week. Or look at the Citizen Times Friday issue of Take Five for their listing of what’s happening.

Nearby, Black Mountain is a quaint town full of unique shops or you can visit Hot Springs and sit in the outdoor spas filled with the hot underground water. This is the first stop for hikers who begin hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia. It’s fun to learn their trail names and hear about their adventures. You can make a day trip to Lake Fontana (where they filmed the movie Nell with Jody Foster) and visit the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest of astoundingly huge ancient old growth trees. Or take a trip over to Cherokee and play at Harrah’s Casino.
