| Hale 'O Bali is an AUTHENTIC INDONESIAN,OCEANFRONT home. It was built in Sulawesi, Indonesia, then taken apart, shipped to Hawaii and rebuilt in 1995. This totally charming and romantic vacation home is perfect for a couple or a small family. Once you check in you won't want to leave this oasis.
Upon entering the compound you will be greeted by the water garden with fish, lilies, and cascading waterfalls.
Park your vehicle inside the fenced compound.
Enter the authentic Indonesian hardwood home, constructed of Chempaca wood. Enjoy the woven bamboo-covered, open-beam ceilings.
The fully equipped kitchen boasts granite and mahogany appointments and an INCREDIBLE VIEW of the ocean and the mountains.
Indonesian furnishings of teak and bamboo are found throughout the house.
Enjoy lounging on the king-size bed in the spacious bedroom.
Dine inside on the teak table, or outside on the large deck at the rattan table. Take in the fresh tropical breezes while you absorb GREAT VIEWS of the Koolau Mountains, Chinaman's Hat Island, and Kaneohe Bay.
The ceramic tile floors and ceiling fans located in each room will help keep you cool.
You can bathe in the beams of the morning sunrise as they greet you from the ocean horizon. Stroll the ONE ACRE property to the garden by the shoreline. Refreshing your senses, sunbathing or meditation are fabulous here.
Attention swimmers! The beach here is too shallow and a bit silty to be practical for swimming. Wait for low tide to stroll along the beach here. Our closest swimming beach is a three-minute drive by car to Kualoa Beach Park which is consistently voted one of Oahu's top ten beaches.
Kualoa Ranch is across from Kualoa Beach Park. It boasts over 4000 acres of ranchland and scenic valleys. Activities include horseback riding/trail rides, a petting zoo, exotic animal collection, fishpond tours, paint balling, jet skiing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
Senator Fong's Plantation is just five minutes south.
Nearby (seven minutes) Byodo-in Temple is a replica of a famous 900 year old temple in Japan. Enjoy feeding thousands of Koi Fish in the large reflecting ponds here while strolling through the Japanese style gardens.
The Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie is 20 minutes north. Enjoy great entertainment, education, and Hawaii's only I-Max theater, and shows here.
Continue north on the scenic shoreline drive another 20 minutes to famous North Shore Big Surf Beaches including Sunset, Pipeline, and Ehukai. Monster waves delight visitors in the winter months here!
During the summer months the North Shore beaches become a treasure trove for snorkelers, scuba divers, and swimmers. Find famous puka shells here. Famous Shark's Cove in Pupukea offers protected tide pools and reef.
Continue on to Audubon's Waimea Falls Park and Botanical Gardens. These gardens showcase an impressive array of native and other tropical plants and flowers. Breathtaking Waimea Beach Park is just across the highway.
Then enjoy famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice in Haleiwa. This town is brimming with great shopping, boutiques, art collectibles, surf stores, restaurants, and cafes.
If you head south from Hale 'O Bali, Kaneohe's shops, restaurants and major malls are less than a 15-minute drive. Continue on to Kailua Town for more great shopping, dining, cafes, and world-famous beaches.
Honolulu is a 35-minute drive away.
At Hale'O Bali you'll have the benefit of country living with the city at your fingertips. We are located in Waikane on the Windward side of the island just off the main artery heading up to the famous North Shore.
There are two Indonesian houses on the property. The large deck wraps around the ocean side of both houses. Your host, Leilani and her family, live in the other house.
