| This beautiful and comfortable condominium is located on the peaceful southern edge of New Smyrna Beach, which is situated 75 minutes from Orlando. (In the aerial photo, we are in the two story building that is directly on the river.) There are two bedrooms and two baths. One bedroom is furnished with twin beds. The Master Bedroom has a KING SIZE bed with thick memory foam mattress pad, private bathroom, walk-in closet and a large picture window overlooking the river. (Master bedrm. also has cable tv w/DVD.) For extra guests there is a queen-sized inflatable mattress. (It is much more comfortable than a sofa bed!) The living room has a 27 inch TV, DIGITAL CABLE, DVD player and CD player. The condo features a fully-equipped kitchen (including a blender for your favorite beach drinks!) and a dining room. Pets are NOT allowed and NO SMOKING. Computer with broadband access and printer are also provided.
Dolphins and manatees are frequently seen from the verandah during the summer!
Outside, there is a pool (heated seasonally), boat ramp and dock that allows access to the inland waterways. A public tennis court and children's playground are right next door. The park also has a cove where about a dozen manatees live and play from April-October. The Atlantic Ocean is just across the road. (See photo.) Beach towels, chairs and cooler provided for your comfort!
Also included is use of a locked garage. We provide chairs, fishing gear, boogie boards, towels, beach cart and cooler for you. JUST BRING YOUR BATHING SUIT!
The northern boundary of Canaveral National Seashore is only one mile away and encompasses the largest lagoon system in North America. The ranger station offers "turtle watches", exploring by canoe, talks and classes. Here you can learn about the first Native American Indians who lived at "Turtlemound" around 900 A.D., and the settlement that grew oranges in the late 1800's. Five separate beach parking lots offer the chance to see primitive beachfront.
New Smyrna Beach offers wonderful shopping with local merchants in a very picturesque downtown area. (Two malls are just 15 minutes away in Daytona Beach.) There are also several SPAS for a relaxing facial, massage, or just to get a wonderful beach haircut. There is a public library (with high-speed internet access), a small theater, and multi-screen cinema. A wide selection of restaurants are found locally, covering the entire gastronomic spectrum - all with wonderful local seafood.
If fishing is your interest, boats are available for rent or charter on both the river and the Atlantic Ocean. Fishing guides are also available.
Canaveral National Seashore is one mile south. Sea turtles nest here May - October! Situated on Mosquito Lagoon near the Indian River and Intra-coastal waterway, you can see all of the natural wildlife! Kayaks and canoes available locally to rent. Championship golf course (Sugar Mill Country Club) is in New Smyrna Beach. Many other championship courses (including the LPGA signature course) are within 20-30 minutes. Daytona International Speedway is 15 min. away.
